Throughout the three-day meeting, DFD will offer a series of networking events for in-person attendees. Unless otherwise noted, there is no charge for these events. Space is limited and attendees are required to sign-up in advance during registration. All events will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center.

If you could not get a ticket for one of these events and are still interested in attending, on the day of the event, come to the room where it is being held to see if space is available.

Applying for Post Doc & Faculty Positions

This session is for senior graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are in the job market.  The session will begin with an overview of resources and general advice for applying for academic positions followed by questions from the audience.  Topics to be discussed include general recommendations for preparing application documents (research statement, teaching statement, etc.) and networking, including writing and reviewing journal papers.

All the Faces of Fluid Dynamics

Several faculty will speak about their personal experiences with diversity in the workplace. The session will include  self-introductions,  a panel discussion,  questions and answers from the audience,  and a bit of mingling at the end. This session will help give underrepresented members of DFD, especially students, a safe place where their voice can be heard. A boxed lunch will be served.
